Rory Roberts
Rory Roberts was born and raised in North Texas. At age six he was already making trips every weekend to the local race track with his family to watch his dad race dirt track modifieds. That’s when he caught the car bug and started drawing and working on cars. At age 15, Rory had already built his first street rod and continued working on and souping up cars. At age 24 he received his degree in Advertising and Design, graduating with Honors. During his 20 years in the advertising and design profession, he received several awards such as Best Design among University Printers, Denton Visual Arts Guild, and awards from The University of North Texas. Rory spent most of his weekends and spare time restoring classic cars and doing a few custom airbrush jobs on the side before setting his sights on drag racing. This is where he spent a lot of time learning how to build horse power and making chassis/suspensions work. After building a door slammer of his own from the ground up and receiving several trophies and awards such as first in its class from AER Manufacturing Car Show Carrollton, Texas and first place in fastest small block class at I-35 Dragway, it was time to move on to a new project. Rory got with one of his long time friends and spent three years building a 1955 Chevy Truck that was featured in the Custom Classic Trucks Magazine. Known as the “Double Nickel”, the truck was also shown at the Dallas Autorama. In 2007 Rory went to work for Unique Performance as a line supervisor over the Foose Camaro until the closing of the company. He has since partnered with Joey Riley, and after completing a few projects such as a 1967 Carroll Shelby Super Snake, 1971 Corvette custom fuel injection, and an AC Cobra, all featured on this web site, they thought it was time to start a performance company of their own.
